Superyachts are in high demand in the region – and with the Middle East now home to 12.6 percent of the world’s yachts – exhibitors at the Dubai International Boat Show reported that the five-day event attracted buyers from all around the world.
New launches and exciting concepts evidenced this growth period, as companies from more than 50 countries announced over 40 global and regional launches throughout the week, while more than 1,000 of the biggest names and brands in the marine industry showcased their latest innovations.
Beneteau, BehneMar Yachting, Ferreti, Gulf Craft, Lagoon, Riva, Sanlorenzo, Silent Yachts, Sunreef and Sunseeker Gulf and Tecnomar among many others unveiled brand-new and innovative vessels. HNWIs and potential yacht owners who would like to own or charter a yacht had the opportunity to take part in sea trials and daily guided yacht tours, giving them access to some of the world’s most exclusive vessels displayed at Dubai International Boat Show.
Oceanco unveiled their new 131-metre concept Aeolus, named after the the Greek god of the wind. The design is fully aligned with Oceanco’s NXT initiative and is in tune with evolving perspectives on the environment as well as lifestyle. Aeolus features exterior design by Giles Taylor with naval architecture from the boards of Lateral Naval Architects and interior design from London-based design studio Njord by Bergman Design House, which chose fully sustainable and traceable materials, including biomaterials in her design.
Bush & Noble, regional distributor for Sunseeker Gulf, exhibited Sunseeker 74 and Sunseeker 65. Visitors to the Sunseeker Gulf stand could view the Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht XPS which boasts many unique features and sets a new standard in the ultimate luxury maritime lifestyle.
Watercraft manufacturer iAQUA who have a team who have worked in partnership with many of the world’s leading automotive brands, including Bentley, Lamborghini and Tesla showcased their luxury sea scooters, while speakers at the Dive Talks sessions discussed their diving adventures and ocean sustainability. Art aficionados could browse the Marine Art Gallery by Feadship where the focus was on ocean-inspired art and sculptures with a curated collection by renowned international artists.
Socialising was high on the agenda: Nikki Beach kept visitors entertained with resident DJ’s, Bored Ape Yacht Party alongside main sponsor Althaus Yachts hosted an invitation-only soirée on the Friday night and Captains were invited to attend the Captains’ Night on Saturday 4th March from 6pm onwards to relax and network with their peers.
Dubai International Boat Show proved it strives to keep pushing the boundaries of luxury trade show formats, new technology and lifestyle trends in the yachting sector.
