London, UK – 19 July, 2022: New cocktail bar and eatery, The Long Lane opens up in Smithfield, London this summer. From the team behind stylish cocktail bar, The Racketeer in King’s Cross, The Long Lane is the latest opening by three veterans of the London hospitality scene, Jack Foxcroft, Tyvian Vigrass and Marco Torre. With over 60 years’ experience between the trio running some of London’s most iconic music venues such as AKA / The End and Village Underground, as well as some of the capital’s finest restaurant and bars, including Hawksmoor Spitalfields and Palomar in Soho, the new venue will be a bar and eatery with food exclusively provided by Babel.
The new venue is located in a unique building, taking aesthetic cues from Art Deco style of the 1950’s. Not only is the bar set within an area steeped in history, but is simultaneously at the forefront of innovation. Today, the area is a hotbed of design talent with Smithfield market and The Barbican attracting discerning globetrotters and locals alike, in addition to the new Elizabeth line stop. The design of the bar is both industrial and contemporary with exposed brick work keeping in line with The Racketeer’s signature dark blue motif.
An innovative range of new cocktails will be provided at The Long Lane, including Unfinished Fizzness made from Vodka, Apricot, Cynar and Citrus, as well as Black Spice made of 100 proof Rye Whiskey, PX Sherry, Fernet Branca and Dry Orange Curacao. Babel, founded by the team behind Yeah! Burger, have created a menu both comforting and worldly, a collection of small plates made with recipes discovered on their travels and refined for London’s modern palette. Some dishes are punchy and exotic, others are nostalgic, all are designed for sharing and at the heart of them is top quality locally sourced British produce; after all, there is no place like home. New delectable dishes include Smoked Beef Short Rib; Crispy Cauliflower, Confit Cherry Tomato, Cashew Cheese, Roasted Chickpeas, Salsa Verde; and Kerala Spiced Crab.
“A zestful experience accompanied by a menu of avant-garde cocktails, this chic spot is the latest opening in Smithfield. Our nuanced design is an archive of art deco meets contemporary, and will serve as a go-to hangout for all in search of a welcoming and lively evening”, said Jack Foxcroft, Tyvian Vigrass, and Marco Torre.
“The Long Lane brings a new sense of intimacy to the London food and nightlife scene, particularly post-pandemic. A warm spot in the neighborhood where conversations will oscillate through attentive and personable service, as well as impeccable food, and drink. The Long Lane was established by experienced creatives, seeking to build a bar and eatery around classic cocktails with an unconventional twist, a stylish soundtrack and a zeal for conversation. We’re excited to bring our latest offering to the capital, as travel returns and locals are out again in the city,” continued Jack Foxcroft, Tyvian Vigrass, and Marco Torre.
The Long Lane is open from Wednesday to Friday, from 12pm to 12am, and Saturday from 4pm to 12am. To make a reservation, please visit https://www.thelonglane.co.uk or call 0203 874 0542.
