The Spanish fashion designer Carolina Guna, recently presented her new collection ’Dreaming’ for the Cannes fashion week during the 70th film festival and talks with Luxury Life International on a warm summer’s evening high up in the glamorous hills of Super Cannes. She talks to us about her career and rise to stardom, and a little more about her wonderful creations, which year on year continue to wow the fashion media and her followers around the world.

Carolina’s creativity, elegance and harmony are the concepts that truly distinguish her collections. She enjoys an important place in the luxury market in haute couture fashion internationally. Creator of her own patent number she was a nominee for the International Fashion Awards Rumi in San Francisco this year, and won 3 categories: ’Best Evening Gown Attire,’ ’Best Fashion/Design Presentation’ and ’Best Public Choice Fashion.’

‘Dreaming is movement in harmony, with colour for the day and shine for the night, because dreams are happy and we like to touch the stars. With this collection I look for that dreamy woman to let go. This is dreaming because the dream is to be happy.’

This was an exceptional achievement, and testament to her hard work, creativity and ambition. In Cannes Carolina’s designs were on show with her most exquisite creations for fashion week and Word Peace Night, organised by Richard Nilsson and the Jackson family and in association with the Mandela and Lennon families. Carolina’s ’Culture Club Villa Oxygene’ has hosted legends for many years from the world of fashion, film, art and the music industry during the glamorous film festival week.

The evening at Villa Oxygene is a star studded affair, set high up at the famous Villa Oxygene looking over the grand vista of Cannes in the valley below which sweeps down to the sea. The shimmering pool and red carpet runway and live music accentuated Carolina’s designs to their highest degree. Our very own James from Luxury Life International was fortunate enough to be Carolina’s guest that night and was ‘amazed at the level of luxury and touched by the true friendship displayed’.

Carolina’s creations are unique pieces, perfect to wear on the red carpet and made with expert craftsmanship. She likes to dress women who want to feel beautiful and unique at every moment. Her brand was founded in 2006 and she displaying in different fashion contests and galas for L’Oréal. In 2008 she opened her own haute couture workshop. In 2009 she created her Prêt-à-Porter line inspired by the essence of the island of Ibiza with a fresh and innovative touch but staying faithful to her elegant style. Her collections offer a range of Prêt-à-Porter and couture designs.
