Drawing on a heritage of rum-making that dates back to 1959, Diplomático Chancellor is the culmination of patient maturation and skilful blending. The liquid is rich with the distillery’s most complex, heavy pot-still rums, which have undergone a rigorous Triple-Cask Maturation process.
By utilizing a bespoke sequence of French Virgin Oak, American Virgin Oak, and Seasoned American Oak casks, Diplomático’s Maestros Roneros have achieved a spirit of singular character. This wood alchemy imparts a structured, noble complexity, offering a refined profile that challenges the world’s finest aged dark spirits.
At 47% ABV, Chancellor is designed to be savoured neat. The experience begins with an evocative nose of heavy wood, dark caramel, and cured tobacco, accented by delicate spices. On the palate, it reveals an exceptionally elegant, cognac-like fruit body, where notes of ripe peach and bright citrus meet the velvety warmth of vanilla. The finish is wonderfully long – a sophisticated arrival of flavor that lingers as a testament to its patient aging.
