Manicurist to the Stars Launches Nail Art Academy

Stoke’s manicurist to the stars can turn her hand to any challenge.

Maddie Regan, head nail technician at 81 Rose Garden in Newcastle under Lyme, is launching a Nail Academy at the prestigious beauty destination after having successfully piloted her first training courses earlier this month.

Maddie heads up a team of talented nail technicians at the super trendy salon, famous for its luxurious and eclectic décor featuring zebra stripes, plush velvets, pedicure thrones and wall-to-wall luxury prints.

Although initially trained in hairdressing, Maddie quickly became passionate about nail care and nail art. With over 7 years’ experience as a nail technician, her outstanding work is  showcased online via demonstration podcasts and live streaming, while her clients include celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment.

Credited as the creator of some of the most inspiring nail art today, Maddie helps her clients express their individuality through their fingers and toes.

The Nail Academy at 81 Rose Garden will offer training courses designed to pass on her professional expertise to aspiring nail technicians and enthusiasts alike.

Although originally trained in hairdressing, Maddie rapidly became passionate about nail care and nail art, showcasing her incredible work on social media and creating popular podcast tutorials.

“When I first was introduced to nail art, I was so sure that it was what I wanted to do. I’d never seen anything like it,” she says. I had to learn nail tech skills and come up with creative ideas.”

She quickly realised that there was a lot more to the nail art than painting and decorating, and her passion for beauty and personal care turned into an outlet that has since allowed her to pass on her professional knowledge to new nail artists.

“Nail Art has really taken off over the last few years,” explains Maddie. “Our nail services are booked solid for weeks in advance as there is a tremendous interest in it, particularly via platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. At 81 Rose Garden we have always believed in sharing our expertise. We like to encourage people to join the industry, secure in the knowledge that they are learning best practice from dedicated professionals.”

Maddie’s Nail Academy reflects the diversity of skills and knowledge needed to set up a nail art business. Courses will cover the basics such as physiology and nail health all the way to advanced acrylic or gel application. “I also offer refresher opportunities for professionals,” Maddie comments: “There’s so much in the industry that is new. We teach techniques, obviously, such as E-filing, ombre and encapsulation, and delicate finishes including mermaid, cable knit and marbling. We also offer advice as to how to set up your Instagram post, take amazing photos and best promote your business.”

Maddie’s Nail Academy will take place later on in the year. Despite not being able to book exact dates during these troubling times, Maddie has been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm: “We already have a number of people expressing a firm interest,” she says, flashing her beautifully designed talons.

“These courses will provide a great opportunity for people who are looking for a new career.”
