“Elegantly Wild” exclusive collection by DIDA Swimwear

DIDA’s fashion swimwear line was born through its creator and designer’s, Tzima Tsitampani, love for ice skating. From her early professional career as a figure skater, Tzima designed her own costumes and competed in them for the national Hellenic team and a Russian federation team. DIDA has been created with versatility in mind and sees swimwear as a complete look tailored for the summer. The brand believes that elegance does not equal restraint and strives to guide women to there most confident self. Without losing its chicness, DIDA found a new, innovative techniques that flatter the female figure through innovative cuts and lines.

The first introduction of lace in swimwear was in 2016 when DIDA started experimenting with bespoke designs and the first official Capsule Collection was released under the brand of DIDA Swimwear in 2017 internationally, from London and Moscow to Mykonos and Ibiza. Lace continues to be what distinguishes DIDA from other brands, along with the creative designs.

This year’s collection is particularly special for DIDA, as detail exceeds production. Designed in London, using fabrics hand-picked in Italy, Spain and France and assembled in Greece, “Elegantly Wild” consists of 100 unique hand-made swimsuits, tailored in a Demi-Couture fashion. Using both selected fabrics and lace, the collection dives into ever-lasting dilemma of growing wise without losing one’s wild side; the silver lining between the woman and girl within, perfectly captured in the collections editorial photoshoot by the world renowned Mara Desypris.

“A swimming suit that embraces the body, follows the shape of the body and becomes like second skin” explained L’OFFICIELE ITALIA in its June 2017 edition DIDA has been created with versatility in mind and comes from the belief that swimwear should not just be worn by the water. Instead, it is an essential style companion that can effortlessly take you from these early summer dips to sunset cocktails and everything in between. Swimwear is considered a complete look tailored for the summer and not a mere component. Swimwear patterns ordinarily rely on the elasticity of the fabric to follow women’s curves. Stepping away from these conventional rules, Tzima is pushing the boundaries of traditional swim by technically developing her own patterns. DIDA now follows the principles of couture and is guided by the the three-dimensional element of the female figure, allowing women to wear cut-away pieces whilst feeling supported.

Every piece of lace is carefully sourced for the collection and hand-cut individually before being added to the swimwear. Our swimwear’s flattering lines are designed to fit, look and feel great, to empower women when they can feel at their most self-conscious. These include clean structural lines that follow the waistline, and give it a slimmer elegant appearance visually.

Confidence is the first step to self discovery. DIDA inspires that step by creating swimsuits that will embrace both the physical and personal features.
