It was an honour to interview Emily, especially considering her remarkable ability to juggle the demands of family life with her thriving business ventures. Here’s a glimpse into her thoughts and experiences.
We’ve been trading as a pre-loved luxury destination for more than six years, the company started as a side business, running alongside the other London buy for cash stores we had. It was during covid five years ago when we recognized the demand for pre-loved designer goods and the boom in the market and decided to re-brand and focus predominantly on growing this arm of the business. Love Luxury was officially born in early 2021 and we opened our first store in London’s Knightsbridge, a stone throw away from Harrods and we’ve gone from strength to strength ever since, with the opening of our second store in Dubai last month.
I’ve always had a love of expensive things from a young age, my Hungarian Grandfather was a gold trader, as a child I’d spend hours helping him sort through coins and gold, this is definitely where my obsession with shiny things started, I’m like a magpie!
We specialize in accessories from the top end of the luxury market, including Chanel, Hermes, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille and Rolex. What stands Love Luxury apart is the fact we’re a family ran company, with complete transparency, so you get the trust with us which you don’t with a lot of other companies, our clients become friends that we have long term relationships with. Fraudsters have turned their attention to the luxury goods market on second hand platforms and are very clever in how they do it. An online pre-loved site and a store like ours will often offer you around the same amount and can compete in pricing, but being able to sit and speak to an expert about your product who will inspect it in front of you will make the entire process of selling crystal clear and ensures that any risk of fraud is eliminated.
Our transparency which is helped through our social media, we really do give our customers a full 360 view of our business as well as offering tips and advice on how to navigate the pre-loved luxury market which is why our customers return time after time, both to buy and sell. You don’t get the level of customer service and trust anywhere else.
My early life wasn’t the easiest, I had lost my Mother when I was 6 years old and entered the foster care system. My education luckily wasn’t affected by this as many are, and I continued my studies up until University. I believe coming from harder beginnings has given me the determination and gratitude needed to succeed in life, both business and personal.
6. What motivated your decision to expand your business into the vibrant market of Dubai?
The expansion to Dubai was an obvious next step for us. Myself and my family have always loved our trips to Dubai and have a real connection with the UAE, it’s also a brilliant and safe place for my family to live which is very important to me when considering any locations for new stores. The lifestyle there is undoubtably one of the most luxurious in the world, and therefore the clientele for the goods we specialize in is obvious. We already had a huge client base of UAE residents that would come to us when visiting London so it made sense that the next step in the Love Luxury expansion was to open in Dubai.
It’s a really exciting time for Dubai at the moment, it feels like all eyes are on the city, so we’re thrilled to be a part of it!
7. What is it about luxury goods that captivates you and fuels your passion?
Pre-loved doesn’t necessarily mean something that has been used by someone else, but rather something that has had a previous owner. A lot of the stock we have at Love Luxury is brand new, in ‘box fresh’ condition. This allows people access to designer goods they may never ordinarily be able to purchase because of exclusive waiting lists and limited edition launches from the likes of Hermès,Rolex and Richard Mille. Buying and selling pre-loved allows people to invest in the luxury goods market, one of the safest and most lucrative ways of investing at the moment, but is also a much more environmentally conscious way of shopping. People are more environmentally conscious than ever before, there’s a definite shift in consumer behavior when it comes to fashion, favoring pre-loved over brand new.
8. How do you skillfully balance the demands of running a thriving business with the responsibilities of home life?
Learning how to switch off, which is often really difficult but something I’m trying to master, we’re all so busy but we always make sure we make the time for family and enjoying each others company.
9.Looking ahead, what exciting plans and aspirations do you have for the future of Love Luxury
That would be telling! Watch this space!
