There are events that end at the finish line. Others, instead, point towards a direction guided by values of sustainability and human collaboration. The UIM E1 World Championship in the Principality of Monaco, held on 17 and 18 July 2026 in the magnificent setting of the Yacht Club de Monaco, belongs to the second category: it is not only a high-speed competition, but the story of a different way of experiencing sport, technology and the relationship with the environment. It is an important partnership that Offroad Club Monaco has established with Team Monaco E1, alongside the partnership between the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Monegasque electric RaceBird.

For Offroad Club Monaco, this race represents a concrete testimony of its philosophy, “The Wake of Monaco”: starting from Monaco, creating a wake of intercultural enrichment, technological improvement and respect for the environment of outdoor sports, while drawing inspiration from the history already travelled. The weekend began in great style on Friday 17 July, when Oban Duncan and Maxime Nocher delivered an exceptional performance, securing pole position and giving the team a clear advantage ahead of race day. The opening race started under the best auspices, with 11-time kitefoil world champion Maxime Nocher recording the fastest lap of Race 1 with an outstanding time of 1:15.422, highlighting the team’s performance potential.

The home event concluded with Team Monaco securing second place in the Place Race and seventh overall in the E1 Monaco 2026 standings. One of the highlights of the weekend took place away from the water, when the team had the honour of welcoming H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco to the paddock. His visit and his words of encouragement provided an important boost to the entire team.

Recognising the remarkable progress achieved by the team, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco commented:

“Their progress has been incredible. They have worked very hard, and I congratulated Maxime, Oban and the entire team. I am certain that in the remaining races of the season we will see them achieve excellent results and, hopefully, reach the podium. My message is simple: continue working and maintain this positive attitude. Daghe Munegu!”

However, the meaning of the race goes beyond the sporting result.

The RaceBird, with its electric propulsion and avant-garde design, transforms the race field into an open-air laboratory, where performance and environmental responsibility are not opposing elements, but rather parts of the same vision.

This is the direction that Offroad Club Monaco recognises and supports, in the relationship between Monaco and powerboat racing, which began more than a century ago. In 1904, Prince Albert I, remembered as the “Prince Navigateur”, supported the first International Motorboat Meeting organised by the Société des Bains de Mer, contributing to making the Principality a reference point for water sports and for the exploration of new frontiers at sea.

Today, that pioneering legacy continues under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and with the support of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

Seeing the O.C.M. logo on the hull of the Monegasque RaceBird was a great honour that deeply moved the co-founders CEO: Massimiliano Mordenti and Project Manager: Erminia Fezia Mordenti, proud to have lived in Monaco for many years.
