RED CARPET HIGHLIGHTS: 2026 EE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS

Who doesn’t love red-carpet glamour in abundance? Amidst the buzz of London Fashion Week AW26, the 2026 BAFTA Awards – hosted by Alan Cumming – transformed The Royal Albert Hall into a glittering evening of celebration, honouring the finest in Film and Television over the past year while showcasing A-list talent dressed head-to-toe in the world’s most coveted designer brands. The Relentless team captured standout style moments as the red carpet unfurled beneath the feet of the undisputed star of the evening – Paddington Bear – who was almost upstaged by Jessie Buckley, winning Leading Actress for Hamnet, Robert Aramayo, Leading Actor for I Swear, Sean Penn, Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another, and Wunmi Mosaku, Supporting Actress for Sinners. The carpet sparkled further with the arrival of Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, Glenn Close, Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, and Michael B. Jordan –  and the list (excitedly) goes on. Catherine, Princess of Wales, completed the evening’s most memorable entrances, looking utterly demure in a Gucci show-stopping gown.

The red carpet is the ultimate international stage for emerging style and colour trends, and this year’s BAFTAs did not disappoint. Voluminous silhouettes are showing no signs of slowing down, perfectly embodied by Chase Infiniti and Erin Doherty in sumptuous Louis Vuitton gowns. As Jessie Buckley in Chanel and Wunmi Mosaku in Ahluwalia stepped up to accept their awards, one trend emerged: Cobalt Blue dominated the carpet, giving PANTONE’s Colour of the Year, Cloud Dancer, a serious run for its money.

Classic tailoring and androgynous dressing continue to make their mark. Tilda Swinton, for instance, was impeccably sharp in a Chanel suit – a cropped tuxedo jacket paired with high-waisted trousers, the statement shoulders offering a subtle nod to the resurgence of 1980s power dressing. And Teyana Taylor? Simply stunning. Working alongside Burberry creative director Daniel Lee, she reinvented the iconic trench coat into a dramatic silk duchesse corseted trench dress, complete with matching gloves in a rich plum hue. While plum is a signature Autumn/Winter colourway, as we move into spring/summer, expect the high street to pivot towards more vibrant tones – and expect the trench dress, in particular, to have a moment. Teyana has single-handedly set a new standard; the classic trench coat may reign in spring, but the trench dress is poised to sizzle come summer.

Here are some of our BAFTA best red carpet looks –  and we cannot wait to see how the high street interprets them.
