La Salle Institute is an independent, Catholic college preparatory school serving young men and women in grades six through twelve.
La Salle Institute was founded by The Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1850 to serve the growing immigrant population coming into Troy, NY. In a caring, supportive environment it enables young men and women to grow in their relationship with God. It accomplishes this by deepening their faith through example, instruction and service. Academic success is achieved by providing a strong college preparatory academic program that stresses the academic growth of each young person. Their community encourages, challenges and supports each student’s journey to reach their potential.
So it is with great pride that the English businessman James W Phillips and co-founder of the Global Business Education Initiative (GBEI) at La Salle, was interviewed for their ‘Cadet Gazette.’ The school’s magazine is packed full of useful and inspiring news and information about the school, the students and advertising from local and international businesses. The Cadet Gazette is managed by the Business Program and many of the journalists are students in the wider school, with many under the expert tutelage of Mike Levy. James attended the first GBEI back in 2020 just before the world was plunged into Covid, and is now helping to organise the second GBEI this April at the school with Mike.
